Rugby Word Cup 2011, with its 95,000 international visitors, was an unprecedented opportunity for New Zealand to showcase its people, culture and attractions to the world. Ensuring the tournament ran smoothly while players and fans were kept safe and secure was of paramount importance. We provided an imbedded consultant within the leadership of the RWC 2011 security team. They coordinated and lead the development of an overarching security plan for the entire tournament and tactical plans for each venue. Coordination with emergency services New Zealand-wide was a major part of the role and this ensured the successful delivery of a safe event.
ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 was co-hosted by both New Zealand and Australia. This trans-Tasman aspect added a further layer of complexity to our security planning and coordination, with the company acting as conduits for all security-related information between the two governments and the organising body, and within the tournament organisation itself. Throughout the delivery stage of the Tournament, strategic and tactical security coordination was provided across all New Zealand venues.
2015 U-20 FIFA World Cup was held at venues in seven cities across New Zealand over a three week period. It was imperative to ensure that fans and players enjoyed the matches and other tournament offerings without disturbance. Our security planning and delivery contributed significantly to the tournament’s success.
ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup 2018 was another New Zealand based international tournament spread across holiday destinations during January and February 2018. This tournament introduced the global audience to the names and faces of the future stars of the international game. From one year prior, we provided all the planning and coordination of security and Emergency Services resources required for the tournament venues. During the delivery stage of the event, strategic and tactical support was provided across key hotspots including the Tournament Final and associated winner’s presentation.
